The Thing About Saying Goodbye
When I was 23 someone I loved told me two things that I will paraphrase here:
I was getting fat and I had better enjoy my 20’s because it was all downhill after 30.
Shortly after they said this they passed away which means I can’t tell them how wrong they were (about my 30’s not my weight, I was getting chunky). I just had a much better year at 34 than I did at 24. I turned 35 today and I’m doing just fine.
I guess saying goodbye means never getting to say “In your face” again.

I wonder if when people go to the cemetery to visit people who’ve died, when we see them standing there quietly talking to gravestones if they are saying things like, “You were so wrong, he DID still love me even after I told him about the herpes, so in your FACE Grandma!” instead of “Oh Grandma, I miss you so much and especially wish you hadn’t died until I’d gotten your recipe for booze cake.”
Happy birthday. In honor of you, I voted for your wife’s wine video today. Here’s hoping it helps…
I’ve never understood the hype over the 20′s. They generally suck.
Happy Birthday!!!!
somewhere around town i carved a bday wish for you on a tree trunk. happy bday!! ♥
My thirties have been much better than my twenties. At least so far. Happy birthday, Will!
Ah, see – I’ve always said that being a late bloomer is totally underrated. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, my friend! Enjoy 35!
Happy Birthday!!
The thirties kick the twenties’ ass and then some.
My motto has always been: another year older, another year less stupid. It’s mostly true so far.
Here’s to you!
happy birthday will!
I’m not encouraging you to stop doing something you love. But if it’s something you might do any time soon, there are a couple of important things to consider.
Last week, I quit the improv troupe I worked with for 4 1/2 years. I left one of the most unique, innovative, funny, sexy and talented teams I have ever seen. (www.scripteaseimprov.com) I still love it all. It will forever be a part of who I am. It was just time to go and pick my next creative endeavor microsoft training.
