Recently I’ve been stressed, mostly because I’ve got a lot going on and not enough time to get it done. Lately when I’ve gotten home I’ve been quite agitated after a long day followed by LA traffic. Yesterday I was in a particularly lousy mood and instead of settling down when I got home I nervously paced around the house as I discussed things with my wife in my most grown up voice. My wife doesn’t mind the grown up voice, it’s the “I’m really serious about this stuff…blah, blah, blah”, but our dog Daisy isn’t used to it and so she gets nervous every time I use it. In fact whenever my wife and I have a serious discussion the dog starts to worry and we have to stop our discussion to pet her.
Anyway, Daisy did not like my tone of voice last night and she let me know it by looking very scared and showing me her belly so I could stop talking and pet her.
Tonight, when I got home Daisy didn’t even wait for me to pace around the house. As soon as I walked in the door she just hid behind my wife. I felt like the worst dog owner ever. It’s probably time to relax.
Poor Fraidy Cat Dog (with genius glasses). I’m sorry.

daisy looks way better in your glasses than i do… that bitch. *ahem* (jaykay!!! har har)
I love that your dog is like the canary in the emotional coal mine. What a great dog!
My cat does something similar. If I yell at Emileigh, he will stomp over to me and let out a big meow. Then he glares and meows until I lower my voice.
She is a delicate flower. With lethal gas.)
Poor wonderdog. It’s hard being a cat in a dog’s body.
Tweak is a total pansy. I tell him he needs to man up a grow a pair, but then he rolls over and passive-aggressively reminds me that I had the last pair snipped off. I’ll never hear the end of that.
Our dog has much in common with Daisy. If I put my glasses on her, though, she’d eat them.
Rusty is the same way. He’s quite sensitive and he loves licking tears.
