Let me take a break from the storytelling for a second to talk about something that’s bothering me.
When did it become acceptable to ask people to buy clothing in order to attend a party? I don’t mean costumes, I mean sweaters. For the second time this holiday season my wife and I have been invited to party whose invitation specifically called for us to wear holiday sweaters, which we do not own. I guess wearing Christmas sweaters to holiday parties is the new (or at least the Christmas version of) pirate themed parties, which was the new 80’s theme parties, I’ve attended the latter events but I draw the line at buying an ugly sweater I’m going to wear twice and then stow away until someone else throws a party. Am I being unreasonable here?
